Stay home and cultural exchange -
stay home and cultural exchange programs can be organized in most parts of Nepal. Participants will be placed in a Nepalese family in a country or city for the period of their stay. This allows volunteers to gain a unique window of knowledge all aspects of the Nepalese people, Nepalese lifestyle of Nepalese culture and Nepalese language and finally, they could enjoy spicy Nepalese hand made food (especially pickle). Volunteers should keep in mind that this is an educational and cultural swap and more than one attempt to provide some information from their own culture and customs of the family with whom they stay is planned. Program participants will not pass through training in Nepal with the other volunteers. During their stay at home, volunteers will attend 2 hours of language classes in the morning and afternoon. They will also have the opportunity to visit and help the local school. Stay best programs is to organize, from August to December which is the time for most large local festivals take place resulting in overall more exciting and familiar for the volunteer. Nepalese culture is generally warm, open and participants feel as if they are part of the family. Volunteers are invited to participate in the program with their children, partners or friends.
stay home and cultural exchange programs are for those who wish to make a short investment period of up to a month. You live in a traditional Nepalese family and elements of culture exchange in your country with your host family. In the village, the culture is very rich, and the family, food, religion and traditions are an important part of everyday life. Initially, the Nepalese village life may appear to lag behind life in the west, but the volunteers learn a lot about how to live a a different and simpler life. In the stay at home and cultural exchange programs, the volunteer will be immersed in family life and may choose to help in the kitchen, cleaning, childcare, working in the fields, or any other task.
